Answer:
Practice! My first attempt at cheetah (or leopard, rather? I think it’s leopard, actually) print was so embarrassing that I didn’t try it again for months. I was so frustrated. It’s actually really simple to do once you get the hang of it. Unfortunately, that may mean a lot of frustration and messing up until you get the hang of it.
I started out using short, thin brushes to make animal prints, but I decided to try a nail pen one day to see if I would get similar results. Pens are quicker, but it doesn’t look as natural, for lack of a better word.
The best thing I can offer is to remember that everyone’s leopard print nail art looks different, and people prefer it different ways. So if you like what you do, don’t let yourself get frustrated because it looks different than a picture you may be looking at or something.
Good luck!

Last night, instead of studying, I added animal print to my nails.
(Poorly done…no patience on my part) summery pink gradient. Just two more finals stand between me and summer! I need lots of brights to celebrate!
Katniss Everdeen, the girl who was on fire.
A fiery gradient in honor of the girl on fire, and black crackle for the coal and ash of District 12. Less than a day and a half left, people!
Simple moon mani. I’ve never really tried one using stickers to create the moons before, so some are a little wonky. Loving the color combo, though!
Disregard how dry my fingers are from all the acetone.
They can take, take, take the kids from the summer, but they’ll never, never, never take the summer from me.
I obviously haven’t done much with my nails lately, so I decided to be a cheater and finally cave to the crackle polish since I didn’t feel like doing a design but was sick of plain polish. I can’t say that I hate it.
Hohoho! It’s been such a long time. I’m sorry I don’t keep up with this anymore, I wish I had the time/drive to do my nails that I used to.
Here’s my first set of holiday nails for the season!
Wow, they’re messy.
